Looking up

Today was a reflective, introspective day more than others.  The cooler than normal temperature, the gleaming sun rays bouncing off the autumn leaves provided a nice backdrop to relax.  Where else to enjoy this type of day -- at the lake.  I took a ride and as I listened to the water pounds the rocks, the wind howling ever several minutes and looking at a clear blue sky, I sensed a calm.  When I took out my camera to capture the scenery, I saw a almost bare tree standing about 20 feet from the water.  Nothing really unique about this tree except for this is the first time I noticed it almost bare.  Being inspired by a drawing from my friend, NHB, I snap a few photos looking up and appreciating the form and character of this lone tree.  Whether this tree is attractive or not, in the spring the leaves will return.  Next, I thought with all the directions life takes us, we always have one source to keep up grounded.  Thanks friend.

In honor of ...

As a took a morning run, I saw a unique display: American flags lined the curb near the local park for Veterans' Day.  This a snapshot of my view.  For those who have served, thanks!
